Gordon shares motivation for developing innovative gut microbiome-directed therapies for malnutrition

Jeffrey I. Gordon, MD, explores the “vast, mysterious world” of the gut microbiome to develop innovative therapies for treating childhood malnutrition and restoring kids’ healthy growth. In recognition of his groundbreaking research, Gordon, who is the director of the Center for Genome Sciences and Systems Biology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, received the 2022 Dr. Paul Janssen Award for Biomedical Research from Johnson & Johnson.
