MEDIA ADVISORY: School of Medicine, BJC HealthCare to host opioid roundtable

Eric Hargan, deputy secretary for the Department of Health and Human Services, and Jerome Adams, MD, U.S. Surgeon General, will visit Washington University Medical Campus Thursday, Sept. 20, for a roundtable discussion about the opioid epidemic and to hear about strategies to combat the crisis.

WHO: Roundtable includes representatives from local and regional organizations on the front lines of fighting opioid abuse and stakeholders who provide services and support to those affected by opioid addiction.

WHAT: Roundtable discussion about the scope of the opioid epidemic and strategies for curbing the crisis.

WHEN: 3–4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20

WHERE: Barnes-Jewish Hospital Parkview Tower, Conference Room D, 1 Parkview Place, St. Louis, Mo  63110.

Reporters are welcome to attend the roundtable discussion. Deputy Secretary Hargan and Surgeon General Adams will be available to take questions from 3:50–4 p.m.
