About the Washington University Medical Palm Initiative

The Washington University Medical Palm Initiative was formed in January 2000 to help introduce the WUSM community to the vast potential of the Palm and related devices. The goals include:

  • Guidance for prospective Palm buyers
  • Helping new users learn about their Palm device
  • Providing resources for experienced users
  • Promoting the exchange of information by Palm users at WUSM.
  • Promoting the advancement of Palm-related and other information technology at WUSM and BJC.

The original WUMPI coordinators were medical students who started this project on their own initiative. They were:

Mueed Ahmad (Class of 2002)
Joe Lee (Class of 2000)
Ben Unger (Class of 2002)

The original web site is designed and maintained by Mueed Ahmad.

As of December, 2004, the site has been redesigned by Russ Monika, Web Designer for the Becker Medical Library at the Washington University School of Medicine. The resources have been updated and categorized. The WUMPI e-mail address will be maintained and messages will receive a swift reply. Reviews and input will be solicited and welcomed from students, physicians, and all PDA users. I look forward to keeping this site a leader in presenting medical PDA resources to the WUSM and BJC community.
